Tips on How to Teach Your Kids to Save Money

They did not understand the meaning of the value of income and expenditure of money. They think only of having fun, does not occur to them that the investment is necessary for the short and long term. As parents, we certainly have an important role in this regard. Here are some tips on how you can teach your children how to save money:
1. Since childhood, they should be educated about the meaning of money. Good time to teach them to know the real meaning of money is after your children have learned how to count. With a simple way and consistency from you, in the hope that a child can remember what you’ve taught them about money.
2. Explain to your child about the meaning of the value of saving money. Blind they understand the importance of saving and how it will affect their lives in the future. And when they ask about money to you, you answer it immediately.
3. When you give them benefits, give the denomination. Give them the spirit that they must keep a certain bill for the future. Give them motivation as:
“By saving, you will be able to buy a new pair of shoes or a new toy that they want without having to ask the parents”.
4. Also taught them that to get the money they have to work. You can start this in your own home environment. For example: give them a fee when doing chores such as cleaning rooms, washing dishes or feed their pets. Surely they will think that to get money is not easy, to work, so they will be wise in terms of spending money
5. Provide your child’s piggy bank for you to help them save money by setting aside a portion of their money or you can open a bank account for them and let them deposit money from their pocket money to the bank. Give them the motivation that they will get many benefits from what they do.
